(Halifax, NS) – Mary Wooldridge-Elliott has been acclaimed as the Liberal candidate for Pictou West and will represent the Nova Scotia Liberal Party in the next provincial election. Due to COVID-19, the nomination meeting was conducted virtually.
As a lifelong resident of Pictou West, Mary is dedicated to the community and the families who live within it. Mary is currently the Municipal Councillor for District Four and serves on eight committees. As a municipal politician, Mary is passionate about the issues that matter most to her neighbours and constituents.
“I am so honoured to be the Liberal candidate for Pictou West in the upcoming provincial election,” says Wooldridge-Elliott. “I believe that we can all work together to build a better Nova Scotia under the leadership of Premier Rankin.”
After graduating from West Pictou District High School, Mary continued her education with a Diploma in Motor Vehicle Repair and holds a class one license which has allowed her to drive a tractor-trailer during her downtime. Mary spent twenty years working in retail and has been a proud bus driver for Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education for nineteen years. Through her various endeavours, Mary has been able to make meaningful connections with students in Pictou West and their families.
