The PC government says they have a plan to address the housing crisis, but what is it?
Tim Houston confirmed today what we already know – that he has no plan in place for Nova Scotia tenants whose rent control will end in the dead of winter. Once the state of emergency is lifted in February, thousands of Nova Scotians could face massive rent increases.
“Nova Scotians who will be displaced in the coming winter months need us to pass legislation during this upcoming session to help them now,” said Liberal Leader Iain Rankin. “Until the government addresses the lack of housing and apartments in Nova Scotia, tenants need the security that rent control provides.”
Premier Houston, a long-term plan is necessary – but Nova Scotians need your help today.
