Rafah was first elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly as MLA for Clayton Park West in 2017. As a resident of Clayton Park West for over 36 years, she has been a passionate advocate for her community and continues to take initiatives around women’s empowerment, youth involvement in the community, and litter prevention.
Rafah is a parishioner of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, and a member of the Italian Cultural Centre. She speaks five different languages and has worked as a medical interpreter for new immigrants and refugees for close to 30 years.
She is the Shadow Minister for Immigration; Office of Mental Health and Addictions; Status of Women. Rafah also sits on the Health Committee.
