Nova Scotia Liberal leader Iain Rankin says the Houston government needs to tell people why they are not getting boosters into the arms of Nova Scotians more quickly.
“Troubling data shows we are among the worst in the country for getting boosters into Nova Scotians’ arms,” says Rankin. “Halifax doesn’t have any booster appointments until late January and other parts of the province have no availability at all.”
Rankin says if the Houston government is running low on supplies or doesn’t have the capacity to quickly deliver the vaccines, it needs to come clean and tell Nova Scotians.
“Omicron is thriving while this government slowly administers boosters that are needed to keep more people safe,” says Rankin. “The Houston government has shown no urgency in getting Nova Scotians these shots, and we’re now seeing the impact of that across the province.”
Yet despite repeated calls to speed up the administration of booster doses, the Houston government isn’t changing its approach. “The government’s slow action on this is putting lives at risk,” says Rankin.
